Plan For 35-Minute LA to SF Hyperloop Tube Travel

Tesla founder Elon Musk finally came forth with plans for the Hyperloop. The Hyperloop is supposed to be a better, faster, more efficient mode of transportation, and would supposedly get passengers from Los Angeles to San Francisco in about 35 minutes. The California High-Speed Rail Project has been delayed and is getting more expensive by the minute.

The objective of the mass transit system is hindsight is exceptional. It would be great to have an alternative to flying or driving. The High Speed Rail would be both slower, more expensive and less safe than flying.

If we are to make a large investment as taxpayers in a new transportation system, then the return should be massive. Compared to the alternatives, it should ideally be:

  • Safer
  • Faster
  • Lower cost
  • More convenient
  • Immune to weather
  • Sustainably self-powering
  • Resistant to Earthquakes
  • Not disruptive to those along the route

The Hyperloop is the better choice to the relieve the congestion of high traffic with cities that are less than 900 miles apart. We can tell that air travel ends up being faster and cheaper. With a high enough altitude the sonic boom noise on the ground would be no louder than current airlines.
